Lots of Great Happenings!!

Respect Life Apostolate

Mothers Day Rose Sales - thanks to all who bought and volunteered for the Mother's Day rose sales.  Thanks to your generosity and the donation of the roses from the Mens Club, we are proud to make an $872 gift to Birthright!  This gift will help women facing unplanned or crisis pregnancies.

Recognized by the Bishop Rice!  Two of our eighth graders were finalists in the RLA's Creative Writing Contest.  Grace Schmidt and Jack Gutting were invited to a ceremony with Bishop Rice.  They both met His Excellency and received certificates for their pro-life essays.

Congratulations Grace and Jack!

The Advocate
Get a complimentary copy of Live Action's The Advocate at the church doors while supplies last.  In the current issue:
-- Gimme Shelter -- Hollywood all-stars team up in a new movie about a pregnant, runaway teenager braving an avalanche of hardship to fight for her baby.
-- Lie, manipulate, kill -- a look at the horrors of Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry.
-- Man up -- guys, are you bro-life or just don't care?

Change the Odds
23% of women who choose abortion do so because of financial hardship.  The LifeLine Coalition offers both financial and emotional support to women in crisis pregnancies.  Your generous donation will help change the odds for more than 10,00 women in our community each year.  To donate, go towww.STLRespectLife.org or use one of the envelopes on the bulletin board near the back of church.

Upcoming Calendar Items
-- Legatus Gospel of Life Prayer Breakfast - Thursday, May 22nd with Archbishop Robert J. Carlson and Archbishop Paul S. Coakley of Oklahoma City held in the Khorassan Ballroom at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel.
-- Project Rachel Post-abortive healing - Thursday, May 22nd at 7pm.  Contact Marisol Pfaff at 314-792-7451 or MPfaff@archstl.org for details.

Introducing Umberto the Unborn
Our bulletin will now carry a weekly message from Umberto, a pre-born infant whose Mother's womb is his private think tank from which he can anticipate life after birth.  His purpose is to give a voice, personality and humanity to the unborn child and to change the hearts and minds of the 'born' and the way we view life in the womb.

Change the Odds - Make a Difference - Calendar Updates

Respect Life Apostolate

Upcoming Calendar Items:
April 7, 7pm - Project Joseph Spiritual Support Group for men affected by abortion.  Call 314-792-7565 for details.
- April 19, 8am - Helpers of God's Precious Infants Rosary Procession from Cathedral Basilica to Planned Parenthood.  This is normally a Mass the third Saturday of every month, but not this month since it is Holy Saturday.  Once a month, on a Saturday, PP flies in a late-term abortion specialist.  This is a great chance to make a peaceful, prayerful witness.  Every life saved is a blessing.
April 24, 7pm - Project Rachel Spiritual Support Group for women affected by abortion.  Call 314-792-7565 for details.
April 29, 12:30 - 2:30pm - Creative Writing Contest Awards Assembly at Cardinal Rigali Center.  This is for the 8th grade finalists that submitted essays on the virtue of chastity and how this virtue relates to abortion.  The RLA feels it is very important for young people to understand this virtue, especially in light of the often casual attitude toward sexual relationships in today's culture.
- May 2 - Vitae Society Pro-Life Dinner, featuring Dr. Ben Carson.  Tickets are going fast and seating is limited.  Purchase online at www.vitaefoundation.org or call 800-393-5791.
